Possibly the most eagerly awaited release of her career, 'Spinning Around' achieved gold status in Australia prior to be released! The first single from her 'Light Years' album, 'Spinning Around' caused a sensation by propelling Kylie back to the top of the charts, debuting at No.1 in both the U.K. and Australia! 'Spinning Around' became Kylie's first No.1 in Australia since 'Confide In Me' and her first in the UK since 'Tears on My Pillow' ten years earlier. 'Spinning Around' also gave Kylie the honour of being one of two artists (the other being Madonna) to have a number one in the eighties, nineties and noughties. 'Spinning Around' won Kylie 'Best Pop Release' at the prestigious ARIA Awards in Australia and featured two previously unreleased tracks – 'Paper Dolls' and 'Cover Me With Kisses'.
