With an edgier sound and a sexier image, Kylie returned
in November 1990 with ‘Rhythm Of Love’.
Recorded in
London and Los Angeles in the spring and summer of 1990, the album
featured four tracks co-written by Kylie with high profile American
producers Stephen Bray (Madonna), Keith Cohen (Paula Abdul) and
Michael Jay (Martika). The remaining seven tracks were written and
produced by Stock Aitken & Waterman including the classic hits
‘Better The Devil You Know’, ‘Step Back In Time’,
‘What Do I Have To Do and ‘Shocked’.
Seen as a
somewhat radical departure from her earlier PWL work, ‘Rhythm
Of Love’
debuted at No.9 in the UK charts and reached platinum. In Australia
the album peaked at No.10 and earned Top 10 placings and gold status
in several European territories. |
