Following a two year hiatus, during
which time Kylie and a whole host of collaborators set about fashioning
the songs that would make up her sixth studio album, Kylie’s
debut release for the Deconstruction label was unveiled in September
1994.
Entitled simply ‘Kylie Minogue’, the album showcased
a diverse collection of contemporary pop/dance tracks and included
collaborations with the likes of M People, Pet Shop Boys, Saint
Etienne, Jimmy Harry and The Rappino Brothers.
‘Kylie Minogue’ debuted at No.4 in the UK and No.3 in Australia, repositioning Kylie
in the public eye and redefining her direction. The album instantly
attained Gold status and went on to sell over 500,000 copies worldwide. |
